Casual shirt seems too short at the bottom

When Ordering Your Custom Shirts

Common Fit Problems

Casual shirt seems too short at the bottom

You want to wear the shirt in a casual way, probably untucked, so you are going for a shorter shirt length, but somehow it just feels too short.

A good fit for a casual shirt

As a general rule, the shirt tail of an untucked shirt should come around the center of the butt.
The shirt tails curve up four cm at the sides of the shirt, and you don’t want the top of your pants to be below this line.  In this case, you may want to lengthen the shirt so that this is covered.
Please also note that if you wear your pants particularly low around your waist the shirt may end up seeming too short.

Mind the bottom width

If you like to wear your shirt untucked, but it gets stuck around your belt the issue may be in its bottom width rather than its length.

Consider adding 1cm to the bottom circumference of an untucked shirt so it doesn’t catch around your waist or hips.

Short sleeves shirt

Useful tip, short sleeves shirts worn untucked have a shorter optimal length compared to long sleeves shirts: they can fit almost like a t-shirt.

Remember to keep that in mind if you’re planning to order a very casual short sleeves shirt!
